School Uniform

At Linby cum Papplewick C of E Primary School, we aim to foster a feeling of community within our school.

We expect all pupils to wear school uniform. We believe that it is smart, it gives the school an identity and it gives the pupil a sense of belonging.

We believe that staff are role models for pupils and should dress accordingly.

We believe that both staff and pupils should dress appropriately for the activities they are undertaking.

Pupil’s Dress

Our school uniform is as follows:

Trousers: dark grey / black tailored with black socks

Pinafore dress or skirt: dark green pinafore or black/grey skirt and knee length, with green / black right tights/white socks                   

Culottes: black / dark grey tailored with white socks                    

Shirt:  conventional plain white with collar – short or long sleeves  and Tie: green with yellow 3mm stripe (elasticated for those who cannot tie it)

Polo shirt: yellow (with embroidered school badge)

Pullover:  dark green, long sleeved, ‘V’ neck

Sweatshirt:  dark green with embroidered school badge

Cardigan: dark green, long sleeved, ‘V’ neck

Shorts: dark grey / black tailored with black socks (Optional April – October)

Dress: green & white gingham checked knee length, with white socks (Optional April – October)

Footwear/Outdoor

Indoor shoes compulsory:  plain black flat e.g. plimsollls – not boots, sandals, trainers or shoes of extreme fashion

Coat

Outdoor footwear: trainers/shoes (not of extreme fashion or sandals)

Ski hat: dark green embroidered with ‘Linby cum Papplewick’ (optional)

Floppy sun hat:  dark green with ‘Linby cum Papplewick’ (optional)

Baseball cap:  dark green embroidered with ‘Linby cum Papplewick’ (optional)

P.E Kit – Indoor                                                                      

Shorts: dark green                                                                         

T-shirt: school yellow                                                                

Trainers / plimsolls:  plain black or white                                     

P.E Kit – Outdoor

Sweatshirt:  dark green with school badge

T-shirt: school yellow   

Jogging bottoms: plain black

Trainers / plimsolls:  plain black or white

Hair should not be dyed or of extreme fashion.

  1. all accessories including braids should match the school uniform: i.e. black, dark green, yellow or white
  2. shoulder length or longer should be tied back

Children with pierced ears may only wear studs (not coloured), which must be removed by the child for all P.E. lessons.

The only jewellery allowed in school is watches (not smart watches).

No make-up – this includes nail varnish, false nails and body art (no henna tattoos)
